Why is underfloor heating the best option
for a conservatory?
The ambient, ground-up warmth from underfloor heating is perfect for conservatories and sun rooms. Conservatories are often short of wall space for traditional radiators, which are awkward to fit around the glazed windows and doors.
With a nice, even warmth, the conservatory could be used all-year-round as a dining area, play room or study, adding extra useable space to the home.
Wet or electric underfloor heating system?
For a small space, it’s tempting to install a discreet electric system – but, while this might save you time and money upfront, it’s more expensive to run than a wet system.
With the costs of energy increasing all the time, efficiency is one of the most important considerations when choosing any heating system. We also have an excellent small-space solution…
What are the advantages of using a UFH
small area pack?
Our small area packs are an excellent way to add underfloor heating to a smaller space. They’re a popular option for single rooms and extensions. Use our small area solution tool for a quick quote and read about how it helped with this conservatory installation in Solihull.

What is the best conservatory flooring over underfloor heating?
Conservatories and orangeries are often tiled, especially if they lead into the garden (muddy paw prints are far easier to mop off tiles than scrub out of carpets!). Speak to one of our sales advisers about our TileFix® underfloor heating system. You can tile directly onto these time-saving boards, speeding up the job.
What about thermostats for conservatory UFH?
With their typically glazed structure, conservatories are more affected by sunlight than most rooms. It makes sense to make the conservatory a separate heating zone, controlled by its own thermostat – this saves energy while preventing uncomfortable hot spots.
Would you ever not recommend using underfloor heating in a conservatory?
As with any heating system, UFH will not be as effective in a room with poor insulation. If we’re looking at an older conservatory here, it may be that the windows and insulation aren’t up to scratch. In which case, we’d recommend getting your house in order before installing any UFH.
What about underfloor heating systems for annexes, summer houses and studios?
Again, UFH is a great way to heat these often glazed and compact spaces. If the annexe already has radiators, it’s a reasonably straight forward job. If it hasn’t, you’ll need to think about how you can connect it to the system.
Will UFH in the conservatory add value
to my home?
We’re not estate agents so we can’t really comment; however, a warm and comfortable conservatory is a year-round room rather than a seasonal space. UFH improves the versatility of the space, which could be used as a dining room or home office, thanks to that toasty floor.
